The Jamaican giant galliwasp is a species of lizard in the Anguidae. It was endemic to Jamaica. It was last recorded in 1940, with locals reporting unconfirmed sightings. Its population has been ravaged and exterminated by introduced predators like mongooses.

Im actually from the US, but it wasnt a choice. Thanks everyone here for an amazing back and forth, intelligent argument. I admire the amount of respect everyone showed to each other, even while disagreeing. One of the things I love about living in Florida is being exposed on a daily basis to so many Caribbean peoples. God bless, everyone.
